Roundtable: Asset Based Lending (ABL) through the pandemic
Company earnings uncertainty and restrictions on social interaction as a result of Covid-19 have made for tricky deal execution. What has this meant for ABL in M&A scenarios and have ABLs been able to get deals over the line against this backdrop?
A year ago, conversation around finance for private equity deals and portfolios was almost entirely centered on borrower-friendly terms and pricing. COVID-19 dislocation has seen borrower focus shift to access to liquidity, headroom and stabilising lender relationships rather than shopping around for the most favourable terms and cheapest pricing.
Jeremy Harrison, Head of Sales, ABN AMRO Commercial Finance UK was one of a panel of senior ABL lenders, advisers and General Partners (GPs) that took part in a roundtable hosted by Real Deals in association with ABN AMRO Commercial Finance. Speakers were:
Richard Babington, Mobeus
Sarah Day, DLA Piper
Edward Godfrey, DC Advisory
Jeremy Harrison, ABN AMRO Commercial Finance
Oliver Jones, Rutland Partners
Listen to the round-up of the discussion to understand how ABL providers are positioning their offerings in post-Covid M&A processes and how ABLs and their clients have steered through an uncertain and volatile market. ()
